Are you really training or just going through the motions? By Tony Haranas

Many moons ago when I was working out of a mainstream gym I overheard some Jock bragging to his mate over the phone that he’d been training for 3hours “and yeh mate we’re not done yet”

My hot and sweaty client who was trying to suck as much air into his lungs between sets just looked at me and shook his head.

Which raises the question, how hard are you really training?

People like the aforementioned mentioned bloke are “a dime a dozen” at most gyms, they’re the ones that have nothing to show for all the time they spend in the gym.

They use the gym to hang out in.

But I’m not really interested in them, I’m interested in you because if you are reading this you must be serious about your workouts.

The aim of this article is to get you to think a little bit about your workouts.

All that glitters is not gold - By Tony Haranas

This morning I'd like to touch on a topic that is as old as me with regards to off season Cardio and the Bodybuilder.

At the start of 1998  I was introduced to this man mountain who was going to make his competition debut that year.

He was 5'10 tall and weighed and impressive 120 kg's off season and quite frankly clothed he looked huge

This guy was so sure he was going to be the next "Best Thing" in Natural Bodybuilding he approached the federations and demanded airfares and accommodation for the Nationals in Sydney that year. (No they didn't oblige)

Fat-free foods fail the test

Good morning all and I hope you have a fabulous week.

I thought I'd share this article which appeared recently in the age. It act as a timely reminder about the lengths that advertiser sometimes go in order to sell their products.

Fat-free foods fail the test

MARK METHERELL

February 17, 2012 The AgeMORE than 100 food products, ranging from breakfast cereals to lollies making ''fat-free'' claims, fail to provide acceptable levels of nutrition, the official food regulator says.

Food Standards Australia New Zealand today launches a national debate on long-delayed measures to control nutrition and health claims on Australia's food.

The agency says that when products making ''fat-free'' or ''percentage fat-free'' claims are assessed for their overall nutritional value in terms of protein, dietary and vegetable content, more than 100 would fail to make the grade.
