ANB Victoria has now introduced the Intermediate Female and Male Class which means for Victoria our Novice Category you are a Novice in your first year of competition or if you have never competed before.
Novice Competitors Please note for extra experience you are allowed to choose a 2nd Division (Not Model) on the day of competition with ANB Victoria. (Again this rule may not apply with other ANB Promoters.)
It is to the discretion of the Head Judge and Promoter if a division will be closed leading up to the competition if we do not have more than one competitor for that division. You will be advised either prior to the competition OR at the check in on the day of competition.
Intermediate is for those that may have competed in past years, placed with other federations but are not ready to compete in an open class such as a weight or age class.
Teenage: open to all male bodybuilders between 16 years of age and 19 years of age. You must be between 16 and 19 years of age as of 1st January of the year you are competing in. (proof of age required) (There is no Female teenage category).
Junior: open to all male bodybuilders between 19 years of age and 22 years of age. You must be between 19 and 22 years of age as of 1st January of the year you are competing in. (proof of age required).(There is no Female junior category).
Novice: i.e. (bodybuilding or figure) any competitor who has not competed before for any federation OR you are a novice in your first year of competing only.
Intermediate Male Bodybuilding or Female Figure: This category was introduced in Victoria for those that may have competed in other federations or placed but still not ready or choose to not enter a open class etc.
Open Men: open to all male bodybuilders who qualify into a weight division under 65kg (this division will only be available at selected titles) under 70kg, under 80kg, under 90kg and over 90kg open division.
Open Women: open to all women bodybuilders who qualify into 2 weight divisions under 52kg and over 52kg.
Masters Men: open to all male bodybuilders of the age 40 years and over as of 1st January of the year you are competing in.
Grand Masters Men: open to all male bodybuilder of the age 50 years and over as of 1st January of the year you are competing in.
Ultra Grand Masters Men: open to all male bodybuilders of the age 60 years and over as of 1st January of the year you are competing in.
Masters Women: open to all female bodybuilders or figure competitors of the age 35 years and over as of 1st January of the year you are competing in.
Grand Masters Women: open to all female figure cometitors of the age 45 years and over as of 1st January of the year you are competing in.
Ultra Grand Masters Women: open to all female figure competitors of the age 50 years and over as of 1st January of the year you are competing in.
Open figure: open to all female competitors with 2 height divisions, 163cm and under or 163 cm and over.
Model: open to all female competitors with 2 rounds. 1st round is a two minute routine of your choice to music with a sports theme. 2nd round consists of walking in a pre-set manner to the music of the Federation or Promoter.
New Male Fitness Model Categories and Criteria

Male Fitness Model Under 35 years old (On the day of the competition)
Male Fitness Model Classic 35 years old and Over (On the day of the competition)
At this stage ANB Victoria will be introducing only 2 rounds in Victoria to this division where ANB Asia Pacifics also include the dress round.
The event will comprise of 2 rounds in Victoria until further notice:
Round 1) Sport/ Active wear round: (Upto 2 minutes)
Contestants will be asked to walk on stage cat walk style displaying sports/ active wear theme of their own choosing.
Round 2) Male Beachwear round:
Contestants will be asked to walk in their choice of swimwear across the stage. This can include board shorts, speedos. Thongs or G-Strings are not acceptable. No lewd acts will be allowed. Judges will be looking for the contestant with a lean, fit athletic physique and best stage presence who can successfully convey his personally to the audience. This is not a bodybuilding event so no posing routine is required.
Each round will be judged on the following attributes
Body shape and condition, overall looks
Body Condition & Overall looks - 50% of Score Judges will be looking for fit, masculine contestants who display proper shape and symmetry combined with overall condition( great abs). Keep in mind this is not a bodybuilding contest, so extreme muscularity will be negatively scored. We will be looking for athletes who are cover model material, athletic with a lean sculptured look.
Marketability, cover appeal and stage presence
Our expert panel will be looking for contestants who have great stage presence and a very marketable look for fitness modeling.
