Its been far to long since my last blog.....I don't know where to begin!
Well truth be told the past 2 weeks i haven't been feeling on track with everything. My body has not been responding the way i want it to towards my training and nutrition plan. I felt my body as holding everything, i wasn't leaning out every time i ate i would feel bloated and have stomach cramps. I started to feel frustrated and my mind was some where else. Due to this i started to stress out which is the worst thing i want to do...i was feeling lost! I knew i had to make some changes and fast to get my mind and body back on track!
The power of the mind is an increidable thing. When the mind, body and training all connect you are a powerful unit....and when there are blockages between them the result will never going to be good. At this point i knew i had to take a step back, breath, clear my mind and get make some changes and fast. This is why its so important to keep a food and training diary through each comp prep. After looking at my last comp diary i realized things where pretty much the same, i need to shock my body with something new. After talking to my business partner Melody and a good friend Aaron they confirmed yes i needed to make changes and do something new. I decided i would try calorie cycling for the next few days and that has seemed to work for me:) I also started swimming for some cadio. Things were looking up, i also knew i needed some "ME" time to clear my head of all the negativity and get that mind set back. We sometimes forget about this "me" time, with our busy life's and that " to do list" sometimes feels like it never ends...its important we take time for ourselves. So on Saturday morning i worked then the afternoon was all about ME, i did some yoga and meditation to clear my head i shook off all the stress and negative thoughts. I woke up on Sunday morning feeling refreshed, happy and full of excitement. But more importantly as i walked past the mirror and looked leaner, less fluidity and the bloating had gone :) and even better, today was the day i get to have my cheat meal! I had arranged to meet a friend to have pancakes, who i had only seen a few days before hand, when i sat down at the table he noticed to the change in my face, body but most importantly my whole attitude had changed!
Bodybuilding is a not only a journey which changes and challenges your body but your mind more than ever. NEVER underestimate the power and visualization of the mind.
Today i smashed my training session i felt strong, super fouced and really excited about the next 13 weeks. Bring it on!!!
Thanks for stopping by, train hard and remember the power of positive thinking!
